By verifying your store, you can ensure that your website is indexed correctly by Google and get access to valuable insights into how users find and engage with your content. This will help you optimize your shop for better visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs) and improve the chances of ranking higher on SERPs.

How to Create a Google Account & Setup the Search Console for Your Shopify Store

thinkSetting up a Google account and the Search Console is essential for any Shopify store owner. You can access various tools such as Google Analytics, Adwords, and the Search Console with a Google account. The Search Console will help you track your store’s performance in search engine results pages (SERPs). This article will provide simple instructions on creating a Google account and setting up the Search Console for your Shopify store. Step 1: Create a Google accountTo get started, create a Google account. Navigate to google.com and click the green “Sign in or create a new account” button on the bottom right of your screen. For this article, we assume you already have an existing email address registered with Gmail (if not, sign up for one). Step 2: Create a Shopify accountNext, you will be able to create your Shopify store. Go to shopify.com and click on “Get Started with a free trial” at the top right of your screen to get started. This site is designed with beginners in mind and should take only a few minutes to complete. When the website is finished loading, click on “Create my store” at the bottom of your screen. For this article, we assume you already have an existing email address registered with Gmail (if not, sign up for one).Step 3: Create a custom domainNext, you need to make your custom domain name. You should use the same email address as the one with which you created your Google account for Shopify’s checkout process. If you have already purchased your domain name, follow the Set Up URL and Domain Name section to configure Shopify with your custom domain name. Step 4: Add a storeOnce you’ve completed this step, Shopify will provide an email confirming your email address and the URL for your new website. From here, it is now time to start building out your site! Step 5: Setup Google Search Console for your ShopifyOnce you finish building your Shopify site, you should set up Google Search Console. This can be done by logging into your Google Account and selecting the “Search Console” tab. For Google to properly track and analyze your website, you must choose “Yes” on the following page: "Allow Search Console to access my website." Step 6: Setup Google Analytics for your ShopifyGoogle Analytics is a free web analytics service offered by Google. This will let you to track your website visitors and their actions on your site and learn about how visitors interact with it. To properly set up Google Analytics, you will need to perform the following steps:
  1. a) Log into your Shopify account
  2. b) Click on “Admin” in the top menu
  3. c) Locate the Settings tab
  4. d) Click on the "Web Property" button
  5. e) In that section, find and select "Advanced Settings."
  6. f) Select "Google Tag Manager."
  7. g) Ensure that "Use Google Tag Manager" is selected
  8. h) In the "Configure Settings" section, check the boxes for "Enable Website Tags."
  9. i) Scroll down to the bottom of this section and click "Save Changes."
  10. j) Select your Analytics account name (example: ecommerce.com), and then click on “Create”
  11. k) Click on “Generate Tracking ID.”
  12. l) This will generate a tracking ID that you can now use to start interacting with Google Analytics.
  13. m) Return to your Shopify admin dashboard
  14. n) Click on “ Admin” in the top menu
  15. o) Locate the "Web Property" button
  16. p) In that section, select "Google Analytics Settings."
  17. q) Click "Add Website Tag" and follow the prompts to implement your tracking code. 
  18. r) Once you've implemented your tracking code, return to the Shopify admin dashboard
  19. s) Under the "Web Property" menu, select "Google Analytics Settings."
  20. t) Click on "View Tracking Details."
  21. u) This will open a new window that includes your website's tracking ID.

  2. Next, go to your mobile browser and open up https://www.shopifyappstore.com/apps/html-file-upload to download and install this app on your phone or tablet as well as install a free trial of the service with unlimited data transfers for 14 days so you can upload files before committing to a plan (a standard $3 per month plan is also available).
3 . Once the HTML File Upload app has finished installing and you have signed up for the free trial, you can go to your Shopify admin page and click on the Apps tab.
  1. Next, click on the HTML File Upload app in your list of apps and then scroll down to find the confirmation URL in a pop-up window.
  2. Click on it and enter it into a web browser as directed to verify that this app is appropriately connected to your Shopify store.
  3. To finish the verification process, return to the Mobile App Store's website at https://www.shopifyappstore.com/apps/html -file-upload to complete the checkout process. 
  4. Once the checkout process is finished, you'll be redirected to a screen that confirms that the app was successfully installed and paid for, as well as provides you with a confirmation code.
  5. Return to your Shopify admin page, and click on Apps again. Then click on the HTML File Upload app in your list of apps and enter the confirmation code into its pop-up window to finish setting it up correctly on your store's app page!
