Let’s start this article with a bit of background on my experience with the two systems.
I have been using Yoast since 2010 or so. At the time of this article, that makes it about 11 years, not only my own websites but also my clients’ sites.
At the time of this article, I’ve been using Rank Math for about three months on some of my other sites and about one month on this website.

However, over the last year, I’ve noticed the features in Yoast free version beginning become more and more irrelevant.
This, along with their expensive premium versions (there are a number of them that used to be included) I decided to make the switch from Yoast.
So, I started to research their competitors, during my discovery stage I tried All-in-One SEO and also Rank Math on a few development websites and noticed both systems worked well.
However, after weighing the two systems, I began to like the ranking system Rank Math has more and more. It was then I decided to make migrate from Yoast to Rank Math
Yoast SEO Premium Plugins Pricing

Yoast started their Yoast premium SEO plugin a few years ago, although, I’ve never used any of their premium plugins so I can’t attest to their effectiveness. However, when comparing the five plugin options, Yoast SEO: the #1 WordPress SEO Plugin ($89), Video SEO for WordPress Plugin ($69), Local SEO for WordPress Plugin ($69), News SEO for WordPress Plugin ($69), and Yoast WooCommerce SEO Plugin ($129) a few things become abundantly clear:
- Yoast Plugin Names
- A lot of plugins to install
- The price $$$$$

Yoast obviously loves keyword plugging their pages with these plugin names—lol. Always thinking SEO, which isn’t a bad thing.
Some may consider this too many plugins
Ok, so if you’ve been running a WordPress website for any amount of time you know plugins mean asset taxation on your server. The more plugins you have the more load you’re putting on your website server, that’s a big factor when it comes to the question of how to migrate from Yoast to Rank Math.
The Price $$$$$
Coming in at a whopping $425/year for one website. This seems like an enormous cost for an SEO plugin, o wait, I mean 5 SEO plugins.
However, this cost may not be that much in the grand scheme of business. If you get ranked on Google for the terms you want, then $425/year is a small price to pay.
With that said, if you’ve done SEO ever, and by you reading this I know you’re probably familiar with SEO, I’m sure you know that your SEO plugin is only one part of the puzzle, and having all these plugins won’t necessarily mean you will receive high rankings.
Additionally, I want to cover if you’re an SEO agency, this $425/year will be prorated but will still be a much higher cost than I believe you should be paying for these tools.
With that said, the cost validation is ultimately up to you and your business, so if Yoast plugins make sense—by all means go for it.
